Question Leg injury

I seem to have pulled a muscle at the very top of my leg which joins the hip. I was a bit too enthusiastic during pigeon pose and I think this was how it was done. It's been about a week and I was thinking that it was going to get better, but now any lunges that I do really hurts my leg. Do you think I should push through, yoga gives you flexibility so maybe it will fix itself?

I've had loads of injuries of this type mummayoga and I can honestly say that each time I pushed through (teachings from my gym days) it has only got worse . My advice would be to rest up and don't do anything that involves stretching that hip area. The good news is that it should get better in a week or so, if not go to the doctor.

I agree with Lizzy, dear Mummayoga. I wouldn't recommend any pushing through.
Our body is amazing and sometimes these kind of injuries tell us that we need to slow down, on all levels, not just on the yoga mat. If something like that happens to me (and it has many times....) I sometimes like to take a quiet moment and ask my pulled muscle "what do you want to tell me?".
And I am usually surprised that an answer comes up for me.......

Get well soon.
Love and light, Viparita.
