Default Sore lower back

I have a really sore lower back. Can anyone recommend any postures I can do at home that might help?

Default Sqwatting down might help your back

I've also got a sore back and my teacher told me to try and squat during the day (holding onto a desk or a chair or whatever) and with legs apart just sqwat down trying to round the back as much as possible.

I've found it really has helped (when I remember to do it )

Default How to help a sore lower back

One of the best ways you can help lower back pain is to lie on your back, bend your knees and place your feet by your buttocks. Lift up your hips and place a yoga block under your buttocks just below your coccyx. If it feels OK then gently and slowly straighten your legs one at a time.

Try to soften your rib crests (the outer edges of your ribs) and relax back on the block. Stay there for about 60 seconds. Then very gently bend one knee placing your foot on the floor near your buttocks, and then the other. Lift your pelvis and slide the block out of the way. Hug your knees into your chest.

Default Computasana haha

If you're sitting a lot, get up every 10 minutes and walk around, spread your arms open behind you and open your chest to counter any desk/ computer slumping.

- Make sure when you sit your feet are parallel to each other and firmly on the floor (not crossed)

- Sit evenly on your sit bones

- Relax your shoulders, float your ribcage up away from your grounded pelvis to support your spine's natural curves and to recruit your inner abs.

- make sure if and when you're reading or typing, your head isn't twisting or turning up or down too much. Your chin can be tucked in a little to free your neck, but no more than a few degrees away from looking straight ahead.
