These tapes are wonderful, however the PM tape doesn’t make an effort to completely explain the poses and their objectives, the muscles you need to be feeling stretched and correct breathing techniques. You can’t watch Patricia while doing the a few of the poses unless you’re already a talented contortionist. Rodney’s AM practise was excellent for me as a beginner. It’s a good introduction to learning a conscious connection between the mind and body. It’s relaxed and plenty easier than Particia’s tape. Rodney’s easy at the eyes, too, ladies…I’d suggest one of the crucial slower paced, informative tapes akin to “Yoga for Dummies” or one which details the poses you practise as an introduction to yoga. Yoga practise has to be done safely and that specific tape provides alternative poses besides for the fewer flexible beginners. i do know it gets old to work with the beginner tapes and also you do end up fast-forwarding when you are happy with the poses, but isn’t that a great time to check out a fixed like this AM/PM practise? You don’t learn Yoga fast and this can be a great goal to like to easy methods to flow gracefully and purposefully from one pose to the following without hesitation.

Both videos included are for beginners but try to be somewhat flexible. You ought to be ready to at the very least touch your toes standing up. If not, you should use blankets, straps or blocks in the event you can’t initally stretch so far as the poses dictate. But it doesn’t matter what, you DO desire a strap for a stretching pose within the AM session. A soft carpet or mat is likewise essential. The AM yoga session is less intense of both videos and mostly involves relaxing and stretching. The PM session is longer and more demanding, with tougher stretches and poses. i am getting a touch sweaty afterwards. Both Rodney Yee (AM yoga) and Patricia Walden (PM yoga) put you secure and do a superb job of instructing you along the style. The background music is usually very calming to get you within the mood. OK, this video won’t solve all of your problems, but it surely will most likely leave you within the most relaxed state you’ve ever been. The results of performing the AM and PM yoga even a couple of times every week last for several days. I’ve found myself to be more comfortable, and no more stressed. And most significantly, i am getting at the side of my wife far better than before. All of us need that, don’t we? i will’t recommend this video set enough. Buy it now!!

I knew nothing about yoga before I started, so I intentionally chose this book for it’s defined program and limited set of poses, as opposed to others that have a smorgasbord of poses that I could dabble in. As other reviewers have pointed out, some of the poses are not easy, and there are many that I still probably only get 25% right because I don’t have the strength and flexibility, but the honest effort I make is paying off.
I found myself getting more and more out of shape because nagging injuries stopped me every time I tried to start an exercise program. My formerly active lifestyle was slowing way down, and I just felt bad — and felt bad about myself as a result. Bikram’s yoga has turned that around in 2 short months. I’ve lost some weight, gained a tremendous amount of flexibility, added muscle tone, and feel a lot better about my long term health outlook.
I do the full program (it takes me about an hour and 15 minutes) at least 4 times a week, usually 5 or 6. I’ll probably take a class with an instructor eventually.
Is Bikram’s yoga the best way? I don’t know. But it’s working for me.
