Default To scrape or not to scrape

I regularly tongue scrape and love the sensation I get once I've done it. A friend of mine was talking about how in chinese medicine they are against scraping, but she wasn't sure why.

Is this true or just some urban myth?

Not sure about the chines tradition, somehow , in Yoga , my teacher says that we activate and cleanse certain chakra sensors that are on our tongue so that our subtle energy channels remain open and active. She infact stresses it as a strong cleansing yogic technique especially done with the steel one....!!!Maybe i didnt answer your question..!!

If it feels good to you, then I would certainly keep scraping!
The chinese might have their views, but isn't it more important what your body tells you?!
I love scraping too!!
(And a friend of mine, who is a student of dentistry and has no clue about yoga does it too, based on modern scientific research!)

My chinese doctor told me not to scrape my tongue - apparently you can scrape off good bacteria which you need to help digest food. Chinese say one thing, Indians say the other...who is to know...

If you do scrape then I'd suggest do it gently and only once down the middle and on each side.
