Hey Rueban,
Are you a yoga teacher now or in training? you seem to really live your yoga. Have you always been that way or was this a life transformation? Sorry for all the questions, I just find it fascinating how people came to be where they are. For me yoga was a life altering transformation. I was meant to be a yoga teacher and meet all these wonderful souls along the way. I do believe we get what we need in life. you see I have meniere's disease which affects the vestubular balance system. I had severe vertigo where I did'nt know which way is up or down and bed ridden for days at a time. I eventually had to have brain surgery where they cut the balance nerve in the brain. Thankfully the surgery worked, but I'm deaf in my left ear. So yoga coming into my life and balancing things out is almost unbelievable from where I was 10 years ago. when I can do balance pose I sometimes have to remind myself where I was when I start to get frustrated. A lot of people that I have met also have had life altering experiences through yoga. when I was in training we did a danacharia for forty days and the neti pot was part of the ritual. I had some issues with it. It gave me an ear ache in my deaf ear, so I got a little nervous and stopped. I did try again and realized I was tipping my head too much and it was draining in my ear and some went down my throat yuck But I'm willing to give it another go of it with my next sinus infection. anyway, thanks for listening and your comments.........Om ShantiNamaste~ Dace ![]()

hey Dace,
i am teaching a little bit, as part of the teacher training. still got my struggles, living my practice being one of them. i do love it, but i struggle with the daily practice at the moment. the last couple of weeks particularly have been a rollercoaster emotionally, i've been battling demons i thought i'd rid myself of for good, which is a lesson in itself i suppose. but then on the other hand, i really do see my whole life as my practice, every second is an opportunity to learn, grow & become more balanced. so its not all doom & gloom in Reuben-land! Thanks for sharing your troubles, it sounds like a difficult period - its really great that you've found Yoga and that its helping you. Whats a danacharia? |
