I've been doing yoga for about a year and have just found out that I'm pregnant. I did a really strong class last week and I didn't feel very good after it (I didn't know I was pregnant then).
Pleae can anyone give me any advice about doing yoga in the first trimester. Could I have halmed the baby by this strong class? Thanks in advance for any help! |

The first time I started yoga I hadn't been doing it for long and I fell pregnant. My doc advised me to keep doing exercise (like walking and swimming) but when I mentioned that I had just started yoga he advised me not to do any for the first 3 months (even if I wanted to I wouldn't have been able to, I was so sick!).

Thanks for this (actually I also spoke to my doctor and he said the same). He advised me to stop for first 3 months, but recommended I get into it again if I felt OK after that. He said yoga is great to do during pregnancy and the stretching and breathing would be good for me and my baby.
