Question Chakra colors

Why is it that the chakra colors all the way up don't seem to be consistent? Depending on the book that I'm reading it the colors seem change and I find this confusing . For example some books say that the second chakra is orange and some yellow.

Is there a correct color sequence and if so does anyone know what it is?

I ask because I just started to meditate and I find it good to visualise the colors, and if I'm getting them wrong then it sort of defeats the purpose don't you think ?

Default

there is no universally "correct" colour , number or location of chakras.

Many classical yoga traditions teach there are 7 major chakras (base/red, 2nd/orange, 3rd/yellow, 4th/green, 5th/blue, 6th/indigo, 7th/white) but different lineages and traditions teach there are 10 or 11 major chakras.
The Tibetan traditions and practices only teach about 5 chakras......so whilst all traditions acknowledge chakras as energy vortexes or "staging posts" around the entire body (not just up the spine) there does not seem to be a "standard issue chakra kit" for everyone.

Confusing eh?

For your visualisation I'd work with what your teacher shares with you, and stick with that if it helps you. You certainly won't go to hell or not achieve enlightenment just because you were not using the classical colour chart or chakra location. If your intention is pure, then "getting it wrong" is of little importance here.
Have a colourful day
