Has anyone tried this and what do you think? Personally I love the idea and apart from possible weather issues (either too hot or too cold) I can't think why I wouldn't do it. Is it popular?

I've done it before, on vacation when I couldn't get to a studio... or when I was camping... it's VERY cool.

it can never be too hot to do yoga and I don't know that it could be too cold, either. When you do yoga, your body generates a lot of heat!

I love practicing outside, though the reality of gritty mat and sand or whatever is often less romantic than you'd hope it might be. A flat(ish) and firm foundation can also be harder to find though it teaches you to be flexible about what you really need.

It's great to practice alone or with a friend, but teaching a class outside sucks....it's hard to hear properly without a P.A.system, and people get self-conscious if you are in anything like a public space waving their tail in the air for all to see....both issues kind of ruin the spontaneity.

I tried teaching some classes by the beach but it was a failure for the reasons above.
Enjoy yourselves
T/boy

Oh I so agree with you Tboy. The idea of it is great but the reality is unless it's a protected space and away from sand, it's a nightmare! And yes, I speak from experience here!!!
