i’ve all of Maya’s kundalini yoga dvds. i admire the undeniable fact that it truly is presented the best way yoga need to be – a body-mind connection, not only an excercise workout. I always feel so peaceful after her dvds. I wish she did some 90min yoga classes on dvds. I strongly recommend any of her kundalini yoga dvds. Sat Nam.

His loss. Still, if being told to become “the new Aquarian Person!” or “We will now chant to strengthen the kidneys” will utterly ruin your enjoyment of a practice, you might, ah, wanna rent this one first. Just in case.
Now, on to the review proper:
This routine can be fairly intense if you’re not in shape. It’s fun, I like it very much, but it can be quite the work out considering you don’t actually *stand up* at any time. That being said, I’m not in the most phenomenal shape of my life at the moment and I can finish this practice. And I enjoy it very much indeed! It is currently part of my regular yoga rotation and I often do the warm up portion of the DVD even on days when I am not doing the full practice. It’s very dynamic: you will not hold anything but corpse pose and easy pose. And it’s all done sitting or kneeling. Props are not necessary even for We the Inflexible Yogis and Yoginis of the World, which I think would make it great for travel, although I do tend to sit on my yoga mat when I do this practice.
Kundalini yoga is very different from the other hatha yoga styles I’ve been exposed to. But it’s fun, it made my back feel FANTASTIC, the music is great, and I felt reinvigorated and centered after it was done.

I have all of Maya’s DVD’s and was looking forward to this book being released. I am really impressed with it. It is a good size and has 208 Pages, the photographs are beautiful…very creative and inspirational. The book contains what the title describes and the chapters are as follows:
Hello from Maya
Introduction
Be here, Now – Root chakra
Detox and destress – Sacral chakra
Yes I can – Navel chakra
Love and relationships – Heart chakra
Staying youthful – Throat chakra
Children – Third Eye chakra
Finding joy – Crown chakra
The chapters are so interesting and well composed. Exercises and mantra’s are detailed and easy to follow. There is also inspirational wisdom and quotes from Masters eg Yogi Bhajan. Maya also includes some recipes that will benefit in different ways.
The pages are in the colour of the chakra’s and I think it is a nice touch as it looks nice but it is also practical as you can easily choose the chakra that you would like to work with. At the beginning of each chakra chapter there is a reference to the chakra:
Governs
Shadow emotions
Colour
Symbol
Element
I am so glad that I purchased this book and can highly recommend it to you and hope that you benefit from it as I know I will. Sat Nam x
