I've been living in Australia for a while now, but originally from New York where I briefly practised Jivamukti Yoga (created by David Life and Sharon Gannon). Their website says that it's a 'vigorously physical and intellectually stimulating practice leading to spiritual awareness. They also say that the 'average Jivamukti student is more educated about the philosophy of yoga than most yoga teachers!' (I don't know about that!!

)
The New York Times wrote "Without Jivamukti, yoga in the U.S. would still be the obscure practice of a few devotees." It doesn't seem very big here in Australia I can only find one person who seems to teach it (Samadhi Yoga in Newtown).
What I liked about it was that each class seemed to focus on a theme, which is supported by Sanskrit chanting, readings, references to scriptural texts, music (from the Beatles to Moby), spoken word, asana sequencing and yogic breathing practices.
