Unhappy Vegetarian is the only way

Do you have to be a vegetarian to be serious about yoga? I eat quite a bit of meat and I really like it. I think I need the protein and it doesn't make me feel good when I don't. My friend told me that I can't be serious about yoga if I eat meat, that's not right is it?

No way, that's rubbish. I think you should eat what you like and what makes you feel good, if that's red meat, blood, bones and all, then you do it!

Vegetarianisum is not everyones cup of tea, and just because you do yoga does not mean you have to turn to it.

I agree it's not for everyone. I don't eat meat, but I eat dairy because I think that's what's right for me.

I also eat clams, because I no matter how hard I try I just can't see those little things as animals with self-awareness. They're more like venus fly traps!

two things I like about not eating meat or fish. 1) saving a LOT of animals from being tortured in factory farms. (even though my dairy cows are tortured too) 2) it really feels good to not have rotting animals inside me, but I am always sure to eat LOTS of protein. and also a 3rd reason - it's really really good for the enviroment because a lot of resources go into raising those animals.
